About the Lariat
I’ve wanted to build this place for twenty years. I’m a longtime Texas fan who loves me some Earl, Ricky, and Vince—and I know I’m not the only one.
Longhorns Lariat is for the folks who live for Texas sports. Football Saturdays, a packed gym, a rally on the diamond, another Longhorn bringing home a championship: if there’s burnt orange involved, we want to be in on it.
We’re roundin’ up the news, recruiting, scores, schedules, and players from across the Forty Acres and serving it up like funnel cake at the State Fair. A whole lot of Texas goodness, all in one place. Dig in, y’all.
Hook ’em!
The roundup
Catch up on the stories, follow your favorite teams, and keep an eye on who’s coming to Austin next. Every news item links to the folks who reported it. Player pages and the archive keep the older stories close at hand.
Built for the fans
We love the Longhorns. We also want the whole story—the big wins, the tough losses, and the things that need fixing. Good reporting belongs here, even when it stings.
We’re keeping the Lariat ad-free while we build our crowd. If sponsors join us down the road, you’ll know what’s an ad and what’s a story.
Our independence
Longhorns Lariat is an independent fan publication. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the University of Texas at Austin or Texas Athletics.
